We Care for Nevadans
Photos of SEIU Nevada MembersSEIU Nevada represents more than 17,500 health care and public service employees across the state.
We care for the sick in hospitals in Elko, Reno and Southern Nevada.  We protect the quality of the drinking water, administer benefits for low-income families, maintain McCarran International Airport, protect our communities' most vulnerable members, maintain the streets and parks, work with foster children and provide many other services to keep the region running.

Special Member Meetings Set

A Union is a member led organization. Your Local Executive Board agrees strongly with this philosophy, and has shown that by its overwhelming vote (27-2) for putting forth the following items for member approval:

(1) Implement a “Presidential Model”, which consolidates the duties of the Executive Director and President. Since the President is elected by the members, and the Executive Director has always been an appointed position, this change enables the members to elect their leader.

(2) Create a bi-annual Constitutional Convention where members come together to prioritize the goals and vision of the Local.

(3) Adjust the Bylaws to prevent employers from interfering with members’ payment of dues. These three items will be presented at a series of meetings throughout the state where information will be presented and questions will be answered. (see below for dates and times) Your participation is important! In accordance with Article 26, Section 2 of the current Bylaws these measures require the approval of two-thirds of the voting members and quorum of 5% of the membership at large in order to be adopted.

We strongly urge your participation. Members can vote at any location during their off time (break, lunch or day off).
