Learn More About SEIU's 2008 Convention
Every four years, SEIU members have an opportunity to make a decision about the direction of our organization. At our 2008 Convention, SEIU members will again face historic decisions that will have a major impact on our families, our communities, and all working people.
By working together, SEIU members
have built the most successful workers’ organization of our time and the leading advocacy group in North America.
SEIU Nevada is sending our delegation to help make these choices. Learn more about the proposed strategies for building a better future through SEIU Nevada, and talk to your local elected union leaders about what you think!
Proposed Strategies for 2008-2012
SEIU members will be discussing two sets of proposed strategies. Both sets of strategies reflect the ongoing goals of SEIU - strengthening workers voices, building a more open and democratic union and helping more workers unite to win at work. Click on the following links to find out more about how the plans are similar, and how they differ.
Justice for All: Proposed recommendations from SEIU International leadership, based upon research, analysis, and discussion by hundreds of SEIU members and elected local union leaders.
Platform for Change: Proposed recommendations from an SEIU local in California, United Healthcare West, designed to help strengthen SEIU from within.
