VICTORY: SEIU Nevada Helps Pass Bill to Reopen F Street

AB 304 Will Preserve Historic Neighborhoods Like West Las Vegas

Working in conjunction with The Stop the F Street Closure LLC Coalition, SEIU Nevada members took action to help pass AB304, which will require local governments to address the preservation of historic neighborhoods and reopen F Street in North Las Vegas.  SEIU and the Coalition sought to seek a solution to re-open the F Street access to Interstate 15 and return the connectivity between this historic neighborhood and the rest of Las Vegas.

Members of SEIU Local1107 wrote and emailed letters to Clark County State Senators to support this important legislation.

Despite a veto by Governor Jim Gibbons, both houses overrode the veto.  Thanks to the hard work of The Stop the F Street Closure LLC Coalition SEIU members the bill now becomes law.
