Nurses in Politics, 2-Unit CEU Course On Dec. 17
“Nurses are perfectly suited for political activism. We are smart, thoughtful, quick to action when needed, can multi-task and prioritize like no one else and after witnessing so much suffering we have no tolerance for injustice.” -Sarah Swisher, RN
Interested in earning continuing education credits at SEIU Nevada while learning how YOU can get involved in the political process?
On December 17th, Sarah Swisher, a registered nurse, SEIU political director in Iowa, and long-time political activist will be here in Las Vegas to teach a two-unit CEU on:
“The Role of the Professional Nurse in Politics”
This CEU will cover the many ways nurses can get involved to make a difference in their local, state and national communities. You can learn about the victories nurses have achieved through their political activism, from state legislated nurse-to-patient ratios to making health care more affordable and accessible.
Now that Nevada is one of the early states in the presidential candidate selection process, Nevada nurses have a unique opportunity to put issues that matter to us on the top of the national agenda. Swisher will also talk about her experiences helping nurses get involved in the Iowa caucus, and how we can translate that activism to our state!
