SEIU Is Changing America with Barack Obama

 

In January, SEIU Nevada's Executive Board, made up of your fellow members, voted overwhelmingly to endorse Senator Barack Obama for President. That decision was based on almost a year of member-driven assessment of the issues, candidates and campaigns through forums, small meetings, two "Walk a Day in My Shoes" events, numerous conversations and discussion and straw polls.

Together, we did amazing work for Barack Obama in the Nevada Caucus. We made a difference in Elko and Reno - where he won! - as well as Las Vegas.

The momentum in this campaign shows our members have led the nation in their support for the candidate who will stand up for America's working families in the White House. Now, our fellow SEIU members across the country are joining us to help change our country and elect a pro-worker president.

For 20 years, Barack Obama has made standing up for working families his top priority.

As a community organizer, he worked with SEIU members to improve our neighborhoods. As a State Senator, he worked with SEIU members to expand health care for children. As a U.S. Senator, he worked with SEIU members to increase the minimum wage, expand health care, and limit the influence of corporate lobbyists.

Now it’s time for us to stand with him and elect a president who will fight for affordable health care for all, an economy that works for working people, and an end to the war in Iraq.

  • Will protect our freedom to form a union by signing the Employee Free Choice Act.

Voters know he’s the change we need. He’s won the most states and the most delegates and is counting on us to send him to the White House!
