SEIU Nevada Local 1107 Announces Endorsements for Nevada Constitutional Offices, Clark County Commission and Las Vegas City Council

Las Vegas – The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Nevada Local 1107 today announced endorsements for Nevada Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Clark County Commission District E, District F, and District G, and Las Vegas City Council Ward 5. The endorsements were announced after SEIU Nevada Local 1107 members participated in a Candidate Forum, where members met with candidates, asked questions, and then made their selection for the candidate they’ll support.

Kate Marshall, Nevada Lieutenant Governor
Aaron Ford, Nevada Attorney General
Nelson Araujo, Nevada Secretary of State
Tick Segerblom, Clark County Commission, District E
Justin Jones, Clark County Commission, District F
James Gibson, Clark County Commission, District G
Shondra Summers-Armstrong, Las Vegas City Council, Ward 5

“I’m honored and proud to have SEIU Nevada Local 1107 stand with me in my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. Growing up in a union household, I know the sacrifices working men and women make for their families. It’s time they have an ally in the Lieutenant Governor’s office who stands up and fights for what they deserve; affordable access to healthcare, a fair wage, and the ability for their children to receive a world class education right here in Nevada. I’ll proudly be that ally in Carson City,” said Kate Marshall, candidate for Lieutenant Governor.

“I’m humbled to receive the endorsement of SEIU Nevada Local 1107 and the healthcare and public service employees they represent. SEIU Nevada’s 19,000 members work hard to provide care for our families when they are sick, work with local foster children, maintain our airport, and much more. They deserve leaders who will fight in their corner, so they can focus on providing critical care and services to our communities. As Nevada attorney general, I will always protect and defend their rights,” said Aaron Ford, candidate for Nevada attorney general

“The hard-working members of SEIU Nevada Local 1107 have always been at the front lines in the fight for quality healthcare in Nevada and I’m honored to receive their endorsement. I look forward to working with them to continue building a strong Nevada that works for everyone,” said Nelson Araujo, candidate for Nevada Secretary of State.

“From statewide to Clark County and municipal offices, our members are endorsing candidates that share the values of hard-working Nevadans. All of these candidates are champions for working people and are committed to building a Nevada that promotes a fair economy and good-paying jobs, supports workers’ rights, and ensures that no Nevadan is left behind,” said Martin Manteca, Deputy Trustee of SEIU Nevada Local 1107.
